Strangers Madara and Gatis try to reach a mutual acquaintance, but encounter various complications when they take the shortest route - through the forest. The journey is not without conflicts, but it also brings the characters closer together. The film is a true story that explores the dynamics of strangers' relationships and the representation of nature as an image, trying to answer the question: do strangers know each other better than the forest?

Two 10-year old twins are being babysat by a family friend slightly older than them, while their parents are out for New Year's Eve. As expected, the twins (Milica and Dusko) hate their babysitter (Verica) and she hates them too. The story gets complicated as they take out the dog and it runs into the basement. There they find a school friend, Bobo, who is 'celebrating' in the basement, since he refused to admit to his mother that he has no friends. They take him to their apartment to celebrate together and a little children's romance develops between Milica and Bobo, while Dusko is playing with the dog.

Zazoo U is a school for the adventurous. And it's not just the students: Miss Devine is an extravagant bohemian teacher with a pet "rarf" (an unknown species); the science lecturer, Dr Russell, is a walrus; and the music teacher thinks of himself as the new Frank Sinatra and always sings a song. Much of the school's involves talent agents from outer space, invisible strings seen only through imagination, and most notably live-action kids who stampede around when the bell rings (woe betide anyone in their path). However, in spite of all these insane occurrences, there is always a sane moral at the center of the story that aids in instructing a lesson to the students as well as the viewer.

Gustavo travels to the desert of Wirikuta in search of native species for his research. During his journey into the desert a series of strange events haunt him until one night he is assaulted, losing all of his belongings. The will to survive forces him to start the trek across the desert. It seems all is lost until Ana, his dead wife, appears. With the help of an old Huichol, Gustavo will confront his past and present life.
